Neste número temos dois artigos escritos para o primeiro Colóquio Hume-Spinoza realizado no IUPERJ em parceria com a PUC-Rio.

No primeiro Bernardo Bianchi Barata Ribeiro analisa o vitalismo no pensamento de Spinoza e o relaciona criticamente com algumas hipóteses do pensamento de Hume e Cesar Kiraly pensa a figura conceitual conseqüente da ponte entre Hume e Spinoza.

Nos ensaios livres temos a belíssima escritura de Andrea Menezes Masagão, documentarista e pesquisadora do Instituto de Estudos da Linguagem da UNICAMP, que analisa o conto de Poe “A queda da casa de Usher”.

Por fim, o Dossiê “Os 20 anos da Constituição da República de 1988″ de curadoria do professor Cesar Kiraly com as conferências “Tradição Republicana: mudança e conservação” pelo professor Luiz Jorge Werneck Vianna  e “A Constituição brasileira de 1988, como experimento filosófico” pelo professor Renato Lessa.

In this issue we have two articles written for the first Colloquium Hume-Spinoza held at IUPERJ in partnership with PUC-Rio.

In the first, Bianchi Bernardo Barata Ribeiro analyzes vitalism in the thought of Spinoza and critically relates it with some assumptions of the thought of Hume and Cesar Kiraly contemplates the conceptual figure resulting from the bridge between Hume and Spinoza.

In addition to these two articles, readers have access to the full version of the lectures given by professors Andre Matins, Francisco Guimarães Mauricio Rocha and Renato Lessa.

In the essays we have the beautiful writing of Andrea Menezes Masagão, documentary filmmaker and researcher at the Institute of Language Studies of UNICAMP, who analyzes Poe’s tale “The Fall of the House of Usher.”

Finally, the dossier “The 20 years of the Constitution of 1988”, organized By Professor Cesar Kiraly, with the conferences “Republican tradition: change and conservation” by Professor Jorge Luiz Werneck Vianna and “The Constitution of 1988, as a philosophical experiment”, by Professor Renato Lessa.
